TV Studio «50+»: elders for elders and about elders
Together with the local TV station and Veterans’ organization we are planning to make a series of TV shows with the students of the Television class. It is supposed to reflect the issues interesting and important for older persons and to make up for the lack of elder-centered TV content on Russian Television. The TV shows are planned to broadcast on the local television and be sent to Russian and international competitions and festivals. We are looking for funding now, since more or less professional TV studio would require a more or less professional camera, etc. All ideas about how we could get it would be highly appreciated. This is a wonderful idea and I wish you much success with it!
It is so important for younger people to see positive role models of older people, and to know that there is a potential to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
My book, «Aging Artfully: 12 Profiles of Visual and Performing Women Artists 85-105» is an example of very old women living actively, with passion. The film, «Still Kicking,» which follows 6 of the women, all over 90, honors the gift of age.
